On Highway 10, between downtown and the water
The DL sits on US Highway 10 just east of where Highways 59, 34 and 10 come together. That is the practical middle of Detroit Lakes: downtown is a few minutes west, the lake is a few minutes south, and the hospital is a mile away in between.
A day on the water
Detroit Lake's shoreline is a fifteen-minute walk straight south of the hotel. The City Park & Beach — the swimming beach, the playground, the band shell — is further west: a twenty-seven minute walk, or four minutes if you drive it.
A day in town
Downtown is 0.8 miles west along Highway 10, and everything worth walking to is inside three blocks of Washington Avenue: the Historic Holmes Theatre, the Becker County Museum, and the Community & Cultural Center all sit on Summit.
A day it rains
The indoor pool and waterslide are the answer most afternoons. Failing that, Cinemagic Washington Square 7 is a three-minute drive, and the museum is a mile and a bit up the road.
